About Us

Floating Lotus is dedicated to providing fairly traded crafts and clothing.  We spent a few years living and working in Asia.  During that time, we developed a great appreciation for the diversity in cultures and craft traditions throughout the region.  

Our retail store in Rockport opened in the fall of 2003.  We now return to Asia each winter to hand-select every piece that we offer.  Floating Lotus practices and supports fair trade.  By purchasing items directly from the artists and families that make them, Floating Lotus is able to ensure fair trade partnerships.  Fair trade alleviates poverty and provides living wages for hard-working individuals and families.  Over the years, we have developed close relationships with all of our producers.  We appreciate the opportunity to share our treasures and experiences.  Floating Lotus and it's producers across the globe thank you for your support.
